I said that I would post about my James Rollins book signing experience, so here it is! One thing I love to do is support authors when they come to Houston. Someday I hope to have a book signing of my own and I would love to see a ton of people there.
I had the pleasure of hearing James Rollins speak at the DFW conference in May and I was so pleased to see that he was coming to Houston for a book signing a few weeks ago. I was too scared to go by myself, so my best friend Mariam and I went together. I warned her about super nerd fans (us book lovers tend to be ones) and she just laughed at me. She had no idea what she was walking into! All of his fans were asking him questions about his characters as if they were real people. I loved it! That means you are a good writer if your readers love your characters.
It was finally time for him to sign his newest book, Blood Line. I waited in line and couldn't wait to see him again. See, I've kind of formed a little crush on him, LOL. He was super nice and he seemed happy to see everyone there. I hate it when authors have a chip on their shoulders and don't care about their readers. We are the ones making you money!! But James Rollins was not like that all.
Overall, I had a great time at the book signing and I can't wait to see who will be visiting Houston next!!
