If you've been living under a rock the past 24 hours than you have no idea that the Booktube community has been in an uproar. A booktuber by the name of Steve Donoghue posted a video that basically said these booktubers that get excited about meeting authors and doing booktube videos "aren't readers." You can check out the video right here.
I understand where he's coming from at the beginning of the video. We do wait in these long lines at book signings just to be passed over by an author who has a few seconds to sign their name and move onto the next person. It's not a fun experience. That's why I go to smaller book signings in my local area so that doesn't happen. When I saw Ellen Hopkins and Brandon Mull at their book signing in Houston, it was awesome!! They did a little Q & A session and talked to their readers like we were old friends. However, when I met Janet Evanovich I stood in a line for THREE hours before spending a measly ten seconds in front of her. Also, when I met Jeff Kinney at the beginning of his career, he wouldn't even look at me!!
Anyways, I get the point he was making at the beginning and I do understand that. I want to be an author someday and I hope that I won't lose that love of my readers. Without them, I wouldn't be an author!!
However, when he talked about how Booktubers "aren't readers," that upset me. Of course their readers. Their fangirls (and guys)!! I'm sorry you don't get excited when new books are released or when your favorite author comes to town, but they are!! You can't dismiss them because they want to look good in front of millions of people on the internet. That's not right. Making these videos are hard, trust me. I've tried recording myself doing book reviews and I'm not good at them at all. I always end up deleting them.
So in light of this situation, I've decided to post my Top 3 Booktubers. Hope you check them out!!

Top 3 Booktubers
Polandbananasbooks
Christine was actually the first Booktuber I found. What I love bout her channel is that she is hilarious. There are several times where I am in tears after watching her videos. Check out this video and you will see what I mean.
My favorite part of Polandbananasbooks is that she doesn't care that she looks silly and a little crazy. She doesn't take herself too seriously. She just wants other to read some awesome books!!

Emmabooks
What I love about Emma...let me count the ways...what I like best about Emma is that not only does she talk about current books, but she's also very helpful when it comes to making your own booktube channel. You can check out that video here if you're interested. Again, I'm not good at it, and you might see me do it the future, just not now.
She has such a positive attitude and I love her sense of style. She has so much more confidence than I do!!

Abookutopia
Sasha is so awesome because...
#1- Look at how awesome her bookshelves are
#2- She's friends with another author that I've met-Lindsey Cummings. I met Lindsey at a Writer's Conference and she was so nice to me!!
#3- She has a cute dog
There are several other reasons why I love her channel, those were just my top three. I love her because she's not boring when she talks about books. She's so lively and is fun to watch!!
